James Anthony Faris was
born to the American South. Here, he was raised in a diverse landscape
of complex ideas and social traditions. His family and community have
influenced and greatly inspired his decisions, including that of becoming
an artist.
Since the creation of the Stillmoreroots group in 2002, he has
spent the bulk of his time exploring his responsibilities as a member
of his local community and his country. He has traveled cross country
twice and to South America. These experiences have greatly shaped
his choices as a writer and photographer.
It is his hope and desire to play a positive role in supporting
and creating some change that affects, inspires, and enhances the
lives of members of his community, country, and world.
